In a #large bowl{}, stir together @all-purpose flour{2%cups}, @sugar{1/2%cup}, @baking powder{1%tbsp}, and a @pinch of salt{}.

In a #blender{}, combine @egg{1}, ripe @bananas{2}, @vegetable oil{1/2%cup}, @milk{1/2%cup}, and @vanilla extract{1%tsp}. Blend until smooth.

Pour blender mixture into the dry ingredients and stir with a #wooden spoon{} until just combined.

Fold in @semi-sweet chocolate chips{1/2%cup}.

Grease a #12-cup muffin tin{} (or 3 mini muffin pans). Fill cups 3/4 full with batter.

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake mini muffins for ~bake{12%to 18%minutes} (or regular muffins for ~bake{18%to 22%minutes}) until golden and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

To make loaves instead: cream @shortening or butter{3/4%cup} with @sugar{1.5%cups}. Blend in @mashed bananas{1.5%cups}, @eggs{2}, and @vanilla{1%tsp}. Alternately add @buttermilk{1/2%cup} with @flour{2%cups} and @baking soda{1%tsp}. Fold in chopped @walnuts{1/2%cup} if desired. Bake in two greased 9x5-inch loaf pans at 350°F (175°C) for ~bake{1.5%hours}.\n
